All South Korean men must serve the military; no exceptions are allowed. Thus, Korean male celebrity enlists in the Army. Fans’ get a bit disheartened because of the fact that they will not see their favorite stars for a long time. In previous years, many Korean stars enrolled themselves in the Army. Lee Min Ho, Ji Chang Wook, Jung Yong Hwa were one of them. On the other hand, many male Korean celebrities will now enlist themselves in the military.

Ji Chang Wook
The protagonist of many popular K-dramas like Healer, Suspicious Partner, The K2 – Ji Chang Wook will be discharged from the military on the 27th of April 2019.
Lee Min Ho
One of the most prominent Korean Celebrity, with dramas like Legend of the Blue Sea, The Heirs, Boys Over Flowers – Lee Min Ho will return from the army on 25th of April 2019.
Jung Yong Hwa
Everyone can hold their hearts for the Korean musician, record producer, singer-songwriter, and actor – Jung Yong Hwa. He will return from the army on 3rd November 2019. Jung Yong Hwa is the leader, rhythm guitarist, and lead vocalist of the rock band CNBLUE.
The very popular Korean rapper, songwriter, singer, actor, entrepreneur and the lead rapper of the South Korean boy group 2 PM – Ok Taecyeon will be discharged from the military on 3rd June 2019.
Kim Soo Hyun
The star of several dramas like Dream High, Moon Embracing the Sun, The Producers, My Love from the Star and Gallup Korea’s Actor of the Year (2014) Kim Soo Hyun will return from the army on 1st July 2019.
Kang Ha Neul
The South Korean film, television and theatre actor Kang Ha Neul who appeared in Moon Lovers, Midnight Runners, The Heirs will return from the military on 19th May 2019.
Cho Kyuhyun, the South Korean singer, musical theater actor and television host who debuted as a new member of boy group Super Junior in May 2006 will be discharged from the military on 24th May 2019.
Im Siwan, commonly known as Siwan, will return from the army on 10th April 2019. Siwan is a part of the South Korean boyband ZE:A and its sub-group ZE:A Five.
Choi Seung-Hyun, better known by his stage name T.O.P, will return from the army on 27th June 2019. T.O.P is a rapper, songwriter, singer, record producer and actor. He is one of the two rappers in the boy band ‘Big Bang’ under South Korean record label YG Entertainment.
Kwon Ji-Yong, more popularly known as G-Dragon will be discharged from the army on 26th October 2019. G-Dragon is a singer-songwriter, record producer, rapper, entrepreneur and fashion icon. He has garnered the title of “King of K-pop.”
While these Korean stars will return from the army, there are also a few stars who might enlist in the military. According to new guidelines, all males must join the military before they turn 30 years old. Many big names feature under this, and their massive fan-base will miss them for a long time.

Lee Jong Suk
Lee Jong Suk is one of the few 1989 born stars who hasn’t enrolled in the army. However, the actor confirmed that he has enlisted in the military. His ongoing drama Romance is a Bonus Book is loved all across the globe. Undoubtedly, his fans will miss him a lot.
Hong Jong Hyun
The South Korean model turned actor will also enroll in the army this year. The actor has also talked over this scenario in a few interviews. He is known for his role in Moon Lovers, Style Log, Her Lovely Heels and many more.
Kim Min Seok, better known by his stage name Xiumin, might also enlist in the army this year. He is a singer and actor. Xiumin is recognised as a member of the South Korean-Chinese boy band Exo, its sub-group Exo-M and its sub-unit Exo-CBX.
The former Korean singer, record producer, songwriter, actor and entrepreneur Seungri will also join the army this year. His original name is Lee Seung-Hyun. The Big Bang star has quit Showbiz amid sex bribery claims against him.
Kim Yun-ho, also known as Shaun, is a singer-songwriter, music producer, and DJ. His agency has confirmed that he will enlist in the army this year. Although, the date for that is yet not revealed. Shaun debuted in 2010 as the backup singer and keyboardist of the indie rock band The Koxx.
The singer, rapper, and actor Dongwoo will also join the military this year. He is the lead rapper of boy band Infinite, and Infinite H. Dongwoo’s full name is Jang Dong-woo.
Choi Woo Shik
The South Korean actor, Choi Woo Shik, who appeared in Train to Busan, Hogu’s Love, Okja, Fight for my way, Rooftop Prince and many more will also enlist in the army in 2019.
The 28-year-old South Korean Singer Himchan will also enlist in the army in 2019. However, no specific date is yet revealed for that. Although, he is under investigation for sexual harassment charges against him.
Bang Yong Guk
Bang Yong Guk is a rapper, record producer and songwriter. He was the leader of the boy group B.A.P till his departure from TS Entertainment in August 2018. Bang Yong Guk will might join the army this year.
Lee Min Hyuk, also known by the stage name B-Bomb, is a singer and dancer in the South Korean boy band Block B, and is in the Bastarz sub-unit with U-Kwon and P.O. He will also enlist in the army this year.
